About me

Career

My tech-career already started back in school, when I joined a club called the “Admin AG”. Our task was to keep the technical infrastructure of our school running. This included building new computers and setting them up, solving problems with the installation of certain packages and even educating new-comers to keep the “Admin AG” running for the future.

I finished school with just 17 and got my “Abitur”. This is the highest form of education you can get in Germany, coming out of school. I was able to leave school that early with that education, because I skipped a grade early on.

In 2023, I later started my dual study in Software Engineering at Solvares Field Service and Nordakademie. There, I am learning software development hands-on in a leading company in the FSM-sector. As part of my dual study, I also get the chance to look into multiple departments reaching all the way from architectural work in the backend to direct customer contact in consulting. I will finish my Bachelor’s degree of Science in early 2027.

Hobbies and Interests

In my free time, I like to take a step back from the tech-world and instead engage in more in-the-moment activities.

One of my big hobbies is couple dancing, which I’ve been doing for more than 3 years now. I started dancing back then to get some practice for the prom of my “Abitur”. However, I didn’t ever end up going there since the ticket-price was just so extraordinarily high, that I instead went to the prom of my first dancing course. And well, turns out that I liked it so much that I’m still doing it regularly every week.

I also enjoy engaging in car culture. Next to playing a lot of car-related video-games, I like driving around in my car. It is a Volkswagen Golf VI with a 1.4l and 122hp engine. Since it’s rather old, I added modern features to it, including a reverse-camera as well as a digital radio.

Another interest of mine is photography. It’s quite a refreshing thing to sometimes go out and away from the computer to instead look for beautiful things to take a picture of. The cool thing is, that I can combine that hobby with any other of my hobbies and take photographs of the things I really like.

Coming back to computers and such, I use Linux (Arch btw) on my laptop for my studies. So I sometimes put a considerable amount of time into reconfiguring something to fit my needs. I have also gotten used to vim-motions quite recently. In most of my editors, I have them enabled, since writing just feels so much more efficient with them.

A rather new area of interest, that I have picked up, is creating hardware and designing custom PCBs. It started with a project for my university, where I had to design my first PCB, and I really enjoyed the process of digitally building that circuit board and then sending it to a manufacturer and hoping that it would turn out well once it arrives.

Last but not least, I sometimes like to engage in smaller psychology-related stuff like MBTI and ennegram. If you’re interested about my type: I am an INTJ with an ennegram of 5w6.

Setup

  • ThinkPad T480 with Arch Linux + Hyprland for my studies
  • Main Desktop with the following specs (mainly for gaming):
    • NVIDIA RTX 2060 (I know, it’s old)
    • AMD Ryzen 5 3600
    • 4 * 8 GB DDR4-RAM @3200 MHz
  • Raspberry Pi 5 with 8 GB RAM (HomeAssistant-Server and others)

Other

I have two chatty budgies called Woody and Monty, as well as a Dalmatian-Lab mix called Mylo.

If you would ask me, what’s the most important thing in life is, I would say it’s Krombacher Spezi (way better than Paulaner).
